Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases of the Eye

Many health conditions can have a profound effect on your eyes and vision, and can go undetected without a dilated eye exam. A dilated exam will evaluate for complications caused by diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol and a host of other health conditions. Dilating your eyes can also reveal early signs of macular degeneration, the #1 cause of blindness in this country. Early detection and proper prevention can prevent devastating vision loss from macular degeneration. In addition to dilation, our office offers retinal imaging that aides in the detection of emerging diseases and allows us to monitor your ocular health from year to year.

Diagnosis and Treatment of Diseases of the Eye

Our doctors are experienced in treating irritated, inflamed eyes as well. Whether it’s an infection, an injury, allergy or chronic dry eye, we can help. Dry Eye Disease is a common problem, and there are better ways to treat it than using lubricating eye drops numerous times a day. In many cases, eyelid disease, medications, cosmetics, previous eye surgery, health conditions, hormonal changes and diet can play a significant role in this condition. Our doctors have a special interest in treating dry eyes and would love to help you improve the burning and blurred vision associated with this condition.
