We have seen many an eye injury when one of these elastic bands has snapped or become dislodged. Use extreme caution if you have to use them. Light Sensitivity, Pain, and Reduced Vision are all signs that you may have a sight-threatening injury after being struck by an elastic band, and you should see your eye doctor immediately. Trauma from these elastic bands can cause scratched corneas, retinal detachments, iritis, a disfigured iris, and traumatic glaucoma. Beware of the bands!
